Perform Opera in Italy offers advanced students an immersive and comprehensive four-week opera skills training. The program provides aspiring singers an incomparable platform to expand operatic training and performance while gaining invaluable professional experience from leading instructors.

60 hours Italian language instruction
Perform Opera in Italy offers three hours daily Italian Language Instruction at the beginner and intermediate levels. Singers’ Italian repertoire is incorporated into the classroom as vocabulary and conversation.
Our teachers incorporate interactive ways to encourage you to practice the language. Practice your Italian with the friendly villagers as you go for a coffee, buy groceries, meet in the piazza or go out for dinner. There are ample opportunities to practice speaking Italian!
Live among friendly Italians in a medieval village. Learn and speak Italian with native speakers and experience the history and culture of the Marche region.

Tuition
$3800 Four-week training program. Housing and living expenses are additional.
Housing & Living Expenses
Housing is in private shared apartments. Apartments are within a 5-minute walk of Italian classes, vocal lessons, and rehearsals, as well as the piazza, which is the hub of activity in Mercatello. The apartments have fully equipped kitchens, living rooms, 2 – 3 bedrooms and washing machines. A shared bedroom for the month is approximately 350 – 375 euros and a private bedroom is 425 – 450 euros.
There are grocery stores minutes from the piazza. Groceries are very economical and most participants eat at home, often sharing meals and cooking together. There are two reasonably priced restaurants and a pizzeria in Mercatello. Many restaurants are available if you plan an excursion to one of several villages and towns on Saturday.
Auditions
An audition is recommended but not mandatory. After submitting your application, contact the faculty to schedule an audition either in person or online:

Application Fee
When you submit your application, you may pay the $35 Application Fee via PayPal.
Deposit
Once accepted, you can hold your place in the program with a non-refundable deposit of $800 paid by check or PayPal. If you choose PayPal, you need to add the 3% processing fee.
Your audition faculty member will provide you with more information about the next steps.
